Nord-Kivu/Goma : Une deuxième bombe est tombée ce mercredi 7 février au quartier Mugunga

Goma is the capital of the province of North Kivu in DR Congo, the town lies between the Nyiragongo volcano and Lake Kivu. Large areas of Goma has been destroyed from the Lava Flow after the deadly eruption of Nyiragongo Volcano on January 17th, 2002. Along the way from the crater to the shores of Lake Kivu the lava flow destroyed 45 villages and about 16,000 homes, leaving about 350,000 people homeless. It is estimated that about 14o people died. In the background a new house which was built after the devastation. Mount Nyiragongo is an active Stratovolcano with an elevation of 3470 m (11382 ft) and is located about 20 km north of the town of Goma, close to the border to Rwanda

Une nouvelle bombe est tombée ce mercredi 7 février 2024 au quartier Mugunga dans la commune de Karisimbi à l’ouest de la ville de Goma dans la province du Nord-Kivu.

D’après des sources concordantes, cet engin qui sans doute provient des rebelles du M23/RDF est tombée dans le petit marché de Mugunga à l’entrée de l’Ecole du cinquantenaire aux environs de 6h20 minutes, mais aucun dégât humain n’a été signalé.

« Elle vient de tomber dans le marché à Mugunga, heureusement, il n’y avait personne, Mungu ni mukubwa (Dieu est grand) » a écrit Claude Rugho président du conseil communal de la jeunesse de la commune de Karisimbi.

À noter que c’est la deuxième bombe qui tombe dans cette partie de la ville

volcanique après celle du weekend dernier.
